Accessibility Statement
Therapy should be reachable for everyone — including on the way in, through this website.
Commitment
Shannon Cahill Counseling, LLC is committed to ensuring that this website is accessible to people with disabilities. The site has been built to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.
What has been done
- Semantic HTML with a logical heading structure and landmark regions on every page
- A "skip to content" link for keyboard and screen reader users
- Colour combinations checked against WCAG AA contrast requirements
- Visible focus indicators on every interactive element
- Full keyboard operability, including the navigation menu and FAQ accordions
- Descriptive alternative text on images, and decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology
- Form fields with associated labels, clear error messages, and status updates announced to screen readers
- Animation limited and disabled automatically for anyone whose device requests reduced motion
- Text that reflows and remains readable when zoomed or viewed on a small screen
- All meaningful content present in the page itself rather than loaded by script
Accessibility of therapy services
If a disability affects how you would best take part in therapy, tell me and we will work it out together. That might mean sessions by phone rather than video, written summaries, adjusted session length or pacing, or working with an interpreter or support person. Ask — it will not be treated as an imposition.
Known limitations
Some third-party services used alongside this site — including the Headway booking platform and any embedded maps — are controlled by those companies, and their accessibility is their responsibility. If you run into a barrier on one of them, contact me and I will help you complete what you were trying to do by another route.
Feedback
If you encounter any barrier on this website, please tell me. Reports are taken seriously and addressed as quickly as possible.

Please describe the page you were on, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology you were using, if any. I aim to respond within one business day.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is not a one-time task. This site is reviewed periodically, and after any significant change, using both automated testing and manual keyboard and screen reader checks.
